Actually, I'm mostly curious about what the landscape is in the background. Care to enlighten?
:iconstockterfuge:
Why certainly. I grew up in Unalaska, Alaska (also called Dutch Harbor). It was late April when this photo was taken and there was still snow on the mountains, but we had managed to find the perfect time to take these photos because the water was beautiful, and there was no snow where we were going. It was this place that was .. amazing. An old rusted ship/boat was on it's side there and had apparently blocked the snow from getting on the rocky beach. In the background, the mouth of Captain's Bay can be seen, and one can barely make out the "Bridge to the Other Side," which coincidently is the bridge that connects the two islands that make up Unalaska. I hope that that helps. Thank you for your interest. :)

Unalaska? Whoa. That's quite a ways away! I'm a Juneau resident at the moment, but was planning on making it over to the Aleutians sometime. I'll add you to my watch. I appreciate the info!
:iconstockterfuge:
That's awesome! I've never been to Juneau or anywhere else really iin Alaska besides, well, Anchorage, but everyone's been there if they've been to Unalaska. I see you take alot of scenary/landscape photos, when you go to the Aleutians, take your camera. The photo-opportunities are endless.

I haven't seen that much of Alaska. Of course, it's just so huge, you know? I mean, Unalaska might as well be Seattle if you think about it. The farthest North I've been is the Kobuk river, in Kotzebue and Kiana. I try and scrounge a camera as much as possible. Someday, I'll beat up a National Geographic guy and steal his. Or maybe just compile some PFDs. How's the weather out in the Aleutians? I hear it's pretty dicey.
:iconstockterfuge:
Haha.. Pretty dicey? How about.. REALLY dicey! Seriously. But yeah, the farthest north is Anchorage that I've been.. Kotzebue? Isn't that like.. North West? Or is it South East.. I have no idea. Bah. D: I can't remember from my Alaska History Class. Hahah.. Never being there just makes me --I just remembered that I've been to Seward, and Valdez-- not know where it is geographically.
